Even now, after all these years, there have been few albums close to this. M.F.A.P.L., Skin and Black Again are all magnificent, but my favourite for everything that it meant to me is Breaking The Cliche. "No more being cool in the name of the cliche." All songs written, performed and produced by Sascha Mario Klein. Recorded with an eight track recorder, three synthesizers, one sampler and a SM-58 microphone in his living room in 1997 and 1998. This back catalogue release has been remastered from the original recordings of “NO INSTRUMENTS” and “M.F.A.P.L.”.

I have been following VNV and attending their concerts for years. They are an amazing band, so prolific, well travelled, classy, and down to earth. Ronan is such a humble, amazing fellow. I'll never forget his taking a person's cellphone so he could give the person on the other end in hospital a front row experience. But this track, their music, is so moving. Lyrics are so well thought out, and their sound so consistently emotive over the years. Can't say enough good about VNV. realbibliodude
